The South African Policing Union (SAPU), founded in November 1993, represents members within the policing sector, including the South African Police Service (SAPS), Department of Correctional Services (DCS), Metro Police, and Traffic Departments. SAPU is a non-racial, non-sexist, apolitical, and democratic organization committed to professional services, transparent leadership, and support for members and the community.
About the SAPU Bursary Programme β Fields Covered
SAPU invites students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2025 academic year. Bursaries are open to SAPU members and their dependents and may be awarded for studies in any field of study.

Selection Process
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted telephonically by the Bursary Committee within 30 days after the closing date.
- If no feedback is received within this time, consider the application unsuccessful.
- Final selection is dependent on the availability of funds.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be a SAPU member or a dependent of a SAPU member.
- SAPU member must be in good standing and paying monthly subscriptions.
- SAPU member must have an active Dibanani Funeral Policy.
- Applicant must be studying or intending to study in 2025.
- Female students and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

- Certified copy of SAPU memberβs ID
- Certified copy of dependentβs ID (if applicable)
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or statement of results
- Certified full academic record (if currently studying)
- Motivational letter (maximum 1 page)

- Download and complete the SAPU Bursary Application Form 2025.
- Attach all required supporting documents as listed above.
- Email the completed application and documents to bursaries@sapu.co.za.
- Include βSAPU Bursary 2025β in the subject line of the email.
- Ensure all information is accurate and documents are clear before submission.
- Submit your application before the closing date: 29 November 2024.
Applications submitted after the closing date will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for further verification or interviews.
