
EY Bursary Programme
Programme Overview
EY (Ernst & Young) is committed to growing and transforming the Chartered Accountancy (CA) profession in South Africa. The CA Stream Bursary Programme supports talented Matric and University students who demonstrate strong academic performance and the commitment to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
Bursaries are awarded based on academic merit and, where applicable, financial need. In return, bursary recipients are required to complete their training contract with EY (a minimum of three years).
Application Period
Applications open annually on 1 August and close on 31 October 2025 for the 2026 academic year.
Types of Bursaries Available
1. Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary
- Covers tuition fees (full or partial)
- May include accommodation, books and/or meals
2. Academic Merit Bursary
- Covers a portion of tuition fees
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be pursuing or intending to pursue a CA(SA) qualification pathway.
- Must demonstrate strong academic performance.
- Must show commitment to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant.

Matric Applicants
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified Matric certificate (if available)
- Certified Grade 11 final report
- Certified Grade 12 Term 1 and Term 2 results
- Parent/Guardian payslip or affidavit confirming unemployment
University Applicants
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified Matric certificate
- Certified full academic record including 2025 mid-year results
- Parent/Guardian payslip or affidavit confirming unemployment
- Studentโs latest 3 months bank statements
How to Apply
- Prepare all required supporting documents.
- Merge all required documents into one combined PDF file.
- Visit the official EY careers portal.
- Select "South Africa" as your country option.
- Choose the appropriate bursary programme (Matric or University applicant).
- Complete the online application form.
- Upload your merged PDF under the "Additional Optional Attachment" tab.
- Review your application carefully before submitting.
- Submit your application before 31 October 2025.
Only complete applications submitted within the application period will be considered. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for further assessments or interviews.
