Programme Overview
The Globeleq Scholarship Fund (GSF) provides financial support to South African students to develop skills in renewable energy, scarce skills, and local community development. The programme focuses on engineering, education, agriculture, nursing, and community-based studies, aiming to create a skills pipeline and support long-term sustainability.
Focus Streams & Minimum Requirements
1. GSF Engineering
- Fields: Mechatronic, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
- Qualifications: N3–N6 Electrical/Mechanical, National Diploma, BTech, BEng/BSc
- Minimum Requirements:
- South African citizens
- Registered in a National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Technology in mechatronic or electrical engineering
- 1st year or higher (excluding bridging/extended courses)
- Interest in renewable energy
- Residing in any province in South Africa
2. GSF Scarce Skills
- Fields: Education (Maths & Science), Agriculture, Nursing
- Qualifications: Certificates, National Diplomas, Degrees
- Minimum Requirements:
- South African citizens
- Reside in Eastern or Northern Cape
