Overview

Heineken is seeking a Temporary Packaging Analyst to join its Supply Chain – Manufacturing team in Springs, Gauteng. This fixed-term role focuses on quality control, analysis, and process improvement within packaging operations.

Department & Reporting

  • Function: Supply Chain – Manufacturing
  • Contract: Fixed-Term
  • Reports to: Extrinsic Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities / Focus Areas

  • Perform quality checks on samples according to sampling plans.
  • Analyse results, identify issues, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Train packaging personnel on process control procedures.
  • Report and manage non-conforming dry goods and finished products.
  • Maintain Quality Management System standards and calibrate testing equipment.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and internal procedures.
  • Initiate investigations and assist with problem-solving for packaging materials and processes.
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions from audits or non-conformances.
  • Foster a quality culture and ensure adherence to 5S, housekeeping, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
  • Participate in E2 (Empowering Excellence) implementation and drive process improvements.

Minimum Requirements / Eligibility

  • Recognised degree or diploma in Natural Sciences (or in final stages of completion).
  • Relevant manufacturing experience; beverage line experience advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety standards, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, ISO 14001, and SANS 1841 (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and numerical aptitude.
  • Responsible, punctual, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and fault-finding ability, with creativity for continuous improvement.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands and computer literacy (MS Office, LIMS, SAP preferred).
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required.
