Overview
Alstom invites motivated, dynamic, and recently qualified graduates to join its 12-month Graduate Programme as a Test Technician (X6). The programme provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills in transport rail manufacturing, working on testing and commissioning across multiple sites. Job Purpose
The successful candidates will support testing execution and quality standards within Alstomโs rail manufacturing environment. This role is designed to develop foundational technical and professional competencies while contributing to product quality and compliance requirements. ๎จ1๎จ
Reporting Line
Reports to the Senior EPU Manager. ๎จ2๎จ
Location
Dunnottar, Gauteng, South Africa, with work sites in Nigel (Ekurhuleni) and Wolmerton (Pretoria North). ๎จ3๎จ
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in testing execution and support activities.
- Maintain quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Prepare documentation, reports, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support continuous learning.
- Operate and care for equipment in line with company standards.
- Preserve product quality and adhere to configuration standards.
- Escalate supplier issues and support corrective actions to meet compliance requirements. ๎จ4๎จ
Training & Development
Graduates will receive structured training in:
- Testing execution and support
- Quality, safety, and compliance
- Documentation and reporting
- Team collaboration and continuous learning
- Equipment use and care
- Product preservation and configuration adherence ๎จ5๎จ
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Advanced Diploma, BTech, or BEngTech in Electrical Engineering is an advantage.
- No previous work experience required.
- South African citizen aged between 18โ35 years.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. ๎จ6๎จ
