Overview
GSK South Africa is recruiting a Finance Graduate to join the local Finance team and support commercial partners. The role provides graduates with hands-on experience in financial processes, month-end reporting, payments, reconciliations, and financial analysis. Working across finance, sales, and operations, participants will gain practical experience, learning opportunities, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to business decisions while uniting science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together.
Purpose of the Programme
- Provide practical finance experience to recent graduates.
- Support accurate financial processes and reporting within the organisation.
- Develop analytical, problem-solving, and business communication skills.
- Prepare graduates for professional growth in finance and accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payment packs, prepare general ledger postings, and submit to shared services on time.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparing journals, reconciliations, and sales reconciliations.
- Monitor and follow up on distributor documents and overdue accounts to support working capital targets.
- Maintain trackers and reports such as headcount, Opex, and advertising & promotion spend, supporting narrative commentary.
- Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting for headcount, capex, and other operational costs.
- Support controls, audits, and standard operating procedures to strengthen compliance and improve processes.
- Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders to enable timely business decisions.
Minimum Requirements / Eligibility
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
- Up to 2 years of finance, accounting, or related work experience, or relevant internship experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and common office tools.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reconciliations and reporting.
- Right to work in South Africa.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, or similar.
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools or experience building dashboards.
- Working knowledge of IFRS or management accounting concepts.
- Experience in payments processing, creditor reconciliations, or receivables management.
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
- Interest in professional finance qualifications (CIMA, ACCA) or actively working towards one.
