What You Will Do During the Internship

As a Transformation Intern, you will support the implementation and monitoring of various B-BBEE and transformation initiatives across the organisation. You will gain exposure to multiple aspects of transformation management while working alongside experienced professionals responsible for ensuring legislative compliance and sustainable business growth.

The programme offers practical experience across several transformation pillars, including ownership, management control, preferential procurement, enterprise and supplier development, skills development, employment equity and socio-economic development.

Key Responsibilities

During the internship, the successful candidate will assist the Transformation team with a variety of administrative, reporting and compliance responsibilities that support Sage's transformation strategy and B-BBEE objectives.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Collating quarterly B-BBEE reports for presentation to the Executive Committee (EXCO).
  • Assisting with the review and updating of standard operating procedures in line with the latest B-BBEE legislation.
  • Supporting the delivery of B-BBEE awareness and training sessions for managers and employees.
  • Generating and distributing monthly preferential procurement reports.
  • Maintaining and managing the company's B-BBEE management system (BEE123).
  • Providing administrative support to the Procurement Manager when required.
  • Assisting with the coordination and management of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.
  • Preparing Employment Equity reports and supporting annual Employment Equity submissions.
  • Assisting with Skills Development initiatives, including graduate programmes and employee training.
  • Supporting the preparation of Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) reports.
  • Identifying opportunities to support black-owned business development initiatives.
  • Coordinating annual B-BBEE audit and verification processes with external verification agencies.
  • Capturing, monitoring and maintaining accurate transformation and compliance data.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Sage Transformation Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • Must have completed a Degree or National Diploma in one of the following fields:
    • Human Resources
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Procurement
    • Entrepreneurship Management
    • Or a closely related qualification.
  • No previous working experience.
  • No criminal record.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
