Admission Requirements
NSC (From 2008)
- English: Level 4
- Mathematics: Level 3 OR Mathematical Literacy: Level 4
- Life Sciences or Physical Science: Level 3
- Minimum 19 APS points (20 if Mathematical Literacy is used)
Old Senior Certificate
- English: HG D or SG C
- Biology/Physical Science: HG E or SG D
- Mathematics: HG E or SG D
- Minimum aggregate: 950 marks or higher
National Vocational Certificate (NCV)
- English: Level 5
- Life Sciences/Physical Science: Level 4
- Mathematics: Level 4 OR Mathematical Literacy: Level 5
- Minimum 24 APS points (25 if Mathematical Literacy is used)
Additional Requirements
- Valid South African citizenship
- Medical and fitness assessments
- Psychometric testing and interview
- Minimum 40 hours voluntary EMS experience recommended
- Computer literacy (advantage)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Applicants with healthcare experience who do not meet academic requirements may apply via RPL if they:
- Are 25 years or older
- Have 5+ years healthcare experience
- Are registered as BAA or AEA with HPCSA
- Pass theory and clinical assessments
