Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to support business operations by contributing to sales performance, customer experience, and brand excellence while gaining exposure to HR and retail processes.
The intern will help ensure that operational standards are maintained while supporting both HR-related and retail business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Maximise Turnover, Profit and Productivity
- Support achievement of monthly and annual sales targets
- Assist with events, launches, and promotional activities
- Provide timely feedback on sales and customer-related issues
Brand Management
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and brand standards
- Ensure compliance with retailer brand guidelines
Stock Management & Store Operations
- Support stock merchandising according to guidelines
- Report out-of-stock items to improve sales performance
- Assist with stock control, administration, and loss prevention
- Ensure adherence to store policies and procedures
Customer Experience
- Deliver excellent and consistent customer service
- Build customer loyalty through engagement and product knowledge
- Demonstrate products and provide expert advice (beauty, skincare, fragrances)
- Drive customer acquisition and retention
Teamwork
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders
- Support onboarding of new team members
- Maintain high operational and service standards

Administration
- Complete daily tracking sheets and reports
- Support CRM processes and retail reporting
- Maintain accurate operational records
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate
- At least 3 years cosmetics experience in retail (make-up, skincare, fragrances)
- Make-up artistry certificate is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of beauty trends and products
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work weekends and shifts
- Own transport required
- Team player with problem-solving ability
